Sahlgrenska I.C. supports clean and safe health initiative

During January 2015 our main cooperation partner Human Bridge carried out the first training within the framework of the Clean and Safe Health Facilities Initiative Launching Program (CASH) initiated by the Ethiopian Ministry of Health. The training is one part of the program aiming to improve infection prevention and patient safety in public hospitals in Ethiopia. Sahlgrenska I.C. and Västra Götalandsregionen supported the educational activities by providing two instructors with specialist competence in hospital policies and procedure on cleanliness and cleaning standards.

138 employees from Black Lion and S:t Pauls hospital in Addis Abeba received a certificate of completion of training. In addition, an adapted training material was developed in both English and Amharic that can be used to spread the knowledge among new employees.

Sahlgrenska I.C. and Västra Götalandsregionen will now evaluate the training and hope to be able to offer similar support to other countries.
